Alona opened her first Pilates studio in Beijing in 2005 – no mean feat given Alona did not discover the physical health and emotional benefits of working out until she joined her first gym at 19 – testament that you are never too old to get fit or gain a new body through proper exercise and eating habits!
Alona had begun university studying to become a primary school teacher, quickly realizing her strengths lay in Physical Education. She graduated from the Russian Graduating Physical Education University.
Since then, Alona has found great enjoyment motivating students in aerobics, step classes, spinning, yoga and finally as a personal trainer.
After moving to China in 1997, Alona continued her love of sport working in Shanghai as a yoga and Pilates instructor, assisting her students with personal training and nutrition as well as training instructors.
Alona has more than eight years of Pilates teaching experience and more than 1500 hours of group classes and private sessions under her belt.
She holds Pilates certifications through AASFP and Polestar Pilates Asia and she continues to upgrade her trainer education. Alona has competed in triathlons, adventure races and climbing competitions as she loves to challenge herself.
She has seen first hand the great benefits of Pilates having suffered severe back damage in a motorbike accident at the age of 16. Within six months of beginning Pilates classes, Alona was amazed to discover all the pain in her back was gone.
Alona loves what she does, and her students can feel it!
